Zeppelin LZ47 LZ77 was shot down by a French 75mm motorised anti-aircraft gun on 21 February 1916 during the Battle of Verdun. It crashed near Revigny killing the crew of 15 man. A secret HVB code book was found partly burned in the wreckage. It was restored by the French secret service but on 16 March 1916 the Germans switched to a new code book FVB.
