performance calculations for the Pratt & Whitney PW6000 aircraft engine
Pratt & Whitney PW6000 turbofan engine of 102.4 [KN] (23020 [lbf]) thrust
introduction : 2002 country : USA importance : **
applications : Airbus A318
max. rating (take-off) : 102.4 [KN] (23020 [lbf], 10442 [kgf])
weight engine(s) dry : 2289.0 [kg] = 44.74 [N/kg]
General information :
For propulsion, the new PW6000 engine with the CFM56 as an alternative was chosen for the Airbus A318. In the end there were major problems with the PW6000, it had to be modified poignantly, which took a few years! Partly because of this, the A318 has not been a great success so far.
