Tupolev Tu-124 accident report

Thursday 7 March 1968 Aeroflot Tu-124 CCCP-45019 c/n 2350504

DSP flight SU3153 from Volgograd (VOG) to Rostov (ROV) with 5 crew and 44 passengers. YOM : 1962. At take-off, during rotation at 260 km/h the pilot by accident touched the switch that activated the spoilers. The aircraft climbed to 10 -15m than fell back and crash landed. It broke in 3 pieces and came to rest 1640m beyond the end of the runway. 1 crew, the radio navigator, died in the crash and 4 injured.

ISP Flight SU3630 from Rostov (ROV) to Vilnius (VNO) with 5 crew and 32 passengers.

Flying over Dnepropetrovsk at cruise altitude 9000m for unknown reason control was lost. It crashed at high speed in a cornfield, 57km from Krementchug. YOM : 1961 cycles : 6996 flying hours : 7504 All onboard died in the crash.
