On January 10, 1915, the Rumpler B.I S/n B543 of FA23 flown by Lt. Fritz Keller and Observer Hpt Otto von Falkenstein was shot down near Amiens by the French pilot Eugene Gilbert and his observer Lt. Puechredon. Lt. Keller was wounded and captured. Von Falkenstein died, he was the commander of FA23. Gilbert would later become the 2th Ace of France, after Pegoud.
